snap shop giveaway.

THE GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED! THANKS FOR ENTERING!
***************************************************

a few weeks ago i wrote about an online photography class that i was taking by the very talented and lovely ashley ann.

i have enjoyed every second.
i've had a dslr for a couple of years now but i really have not been utilizing it to it's full potential.
i love taking pictures and cross my fingers every time i press the shutter--because i am relying on my camera to automatically capture what i want.
even thinking about shooting in manual mode scares me to death.

photography intimidates me. ashley does not.

she is smart and knows her stuff.
but she is able to break down photography for the non-photographer, the beginner, the intimidated.
all you need is a dslr camera and an open mind.
ashley takes care of the rest.
her online class is BRILLIANT!! brilliant, i tell you!!
i can attest to that 100%.

luckily for you, ashley is giving one of you a spot in the september online snapshot class!

this prize is worth $200--a total steal by the way.
to read the details, click on over to the snapshots page here.

ok, now to enter.
please leave me a comment telling me about someone in your life who inspires you.
that's it.
easy peasy.

to earn an extra entry, donate any dollar amount to our davis boy, via the chipin button right over there under my picture, and i will throw your name in the hat for every dollar donated!
(no need to leave another comment.
chipin will let me know that you've donated and how much $.)

it's a win-win situation, don't ya think?
:)

next wednesday, august 24th, i will pick a winner from the comments.

GOOD LUCK, FRIENDS!
and thank you ashley!

  24. My dad has always been my inspiration. He came to this country as a child not speaking the language and was able to build himself into something great. He has succeeded so much more than those who are offered everything from birth. He put himself through several levels of schooling and has never taken any handout. He taught me to love others, love my community, the importance of voting and choosing to do something if you aren’t happy with your community, and most importantly how important it is to always love Jesus when doing everything. He showed me to love the world and other cultures, to love travel and no matter what I wanted to do in life he’d be happy with, and it didn’t matter that I was a girl, I could do anything I wanted to. He believes in me, loves me and always supports me.
    I'm one lucky girl huh?

He was having a really hard time letting his mom leave him at school, so we prayed for Carter last night. This morning when we dropped off at school, Carter was again sad for his mom to leave. My little Hayden walked over to Carter, grabbed him by the hand and said, "Carter, we prayed for you last night, it will be OK." I love her.

I am inspired by Ashley Ann because she, too, began photography as a sort of hobby. I hope that by the time I find out where God needs me to teach, I can capture every moment He gives me like Ashley does.

  79. I am surrounded by inspirational people in my life; from the 4 and 5 year olds that I teach during the week, to the special needs adults I work with on my weekends, to the friends and family that I choose to surround myself with. However, when choosing the most inspiration person in my life, the answer is very easy: my mother. She was diagnosed 9 years ago with a very rare blood disease. Never being one to back down from a fight, she busied herself working two jobs, volunteering, taking care of my family and being the stone pillar we all knew and loved so well. She worked at a group home for special needs adults, the same facility I currently work part time at. She was dedicated to the individuals in the home and didn't want them to see her back down from a fight. In her eyes, the battles they were fighting each day just to earn respect and be seen as members of the society, were larger than her battle with her disease. A little over two years ago, the disease progressed and finally became too strong for her body to fight. Earth lost one of it's precious angels on June 5, 2009 but while she isn't here in body, she is still here in spirit. All of the strength, courage and determination that she fought that disease with has left a mark on all the lives she has touched and we are all a little stronger, wiser and more courageous because of her.

  147. 1st, I need to explain that I just recently learned of Reece's Rainbow. I am totally obsessed with reading all of the stories of the new commitments to the home comings and everything in between. Which is what lead me to your blog, which I love following. While it is so hard to just choose one person that inspires me most. I would have to say that person is Andrea Roberts. I have never met her but for someone to turn a life changing circumstance it to a LIFE CHANGING event for so many innocent children is just remarkable. I could only dream of having the positive impact upon the world that she does each and everyday.

  150. Someone who inspires me is my friend, Gretchan. She is an amazing Mother, wife and friend. She somehow manages to work full-time, go to school part-time and still make her family and friends a priority.By far, her most inspirational quality is how she sees the good in life and people, and continues to be positive and loves Jesus, even when she has every right to be bitter. You see, in a three year period, Gretchan lost both parents to cancer and two infant children. She still loves and lives without fear and with a positive outlook. She completely blows me away-I am in awe of her daily.

I am inspired by her faithfulness in her calling to adopt and be an advocate for the children who don't have a voice. I am inspired by her faith and trust that God would provide the funds needed. I am inspired by her generosity to give a portion of what God provided to another family who was called to adopt. So Ashley, if you are reading this, thank you. Your story has truly been an inspirational blessing.
