apple blueberry dump cake

not the lovliest name, is it?
but it is pretty darn good. must say.

in fact, i took it to work and it was devoured in less than 15 minutes.
the entire thing.
one guy took his fork and ran it down the side of the pan to get all the crust that had bubbled over.
made my day!

amy's apple blueberry dump cake
3 cans of apple pie filling
1 pint of fresh blueberries (or about 1 whole bag frozen berries--leave frozen. don't thaw or they will make your cake blue)
2 tbsp sugar
1 yellow cake mix
1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter, melted

open cans of apple pie filling and pour into the bottom of a 13x9 dish.
sprinkle the blueberries over the top (i never measure, just add enough for your taste).
sprinkle blueberries with sugar.
sprinkle the cake mix all over the top of the fruit.
drizzle the butter over the cake mix. try and get it everywhere. (ok, i admit, most times i just use two whole sticks.)
if you want to make it extra pretty, sprinkle another teaspoon of sugar over the top.
bake at 375 degrees for about 30-35 minutes or until top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.
serve warm and if you really want to be happy, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

there are lots of ways to spice this up too. sometimes i add chopped walnuts or pecans. sometimes i'll make this with fresh peaches and blueberries, or cherries and pineapple. go with whatever you like.
any way though, it's simple and delicious!
