i'm a sewing machine. no, wait, a sewing MACHINE. you know what i mean. now i'm rhymin. oh never mind.

i spent the weekend with my sewing machine.
we have really bonded.

a couple of months ago i convinced two friends to do a craft show with me as a fundraiser for davis.
they were all over it.

and every day, they come to work with something pretty they've made.
necklaces, flower pins, hats, scarves, etc.
and i sit there, nodding my head, trying on their goodies, oohing and aahing.
as i make NOTHING.

not good.
not good at all.
but this weekend i made up for my lost time and lazy weekends.

i sewed 21 pillows.
i made two chalkboards.
i painted a chair and reupholstered the seat.
anna and i made button hair clips together.
there is a HUGE pile of pillows in the craft room. (this is just a few!)

first i cut and cut and cut.
some of the fabrics i had for months.
it was almost painful to cut into them at first.
i am a recovering fabric addict.

it's pretty obvious that i am attracted to bright swirly patterns and lots of ruffles.
who knew?

and today my arms are sore.
from cutting and SEWING!
sad.
so sad it's almost funny.

so what's my next project...i'm not sure!
but i'm sure i'll be hangin with my homey, my brotha, my bro--my sewing machine, silly!

next project...hmmm, how about an etsy shop?!! afterall, how are all of us girls on the other side of the country going to get in on some of that swirling pattern and ruffled goodness?

Loving all your creative hours that were poured into these. Funny, I have the same mustard yellow fabric to make into ruffled makeup bags.
Good luck at the craft fair! May the Lord truly bless your efforts to bring this little man home.

is the title of this from King of Queens when Doug says "it's not a sno cone machine. It's a sno cone MACHINE"???

everything looks awesome by the way!
