simple fall decorating for lazy people

i have become a lazy decorator.
i love to make things look pretty.
i love to shop for pretty things.
but when it comes to actually DOING the decorating, i'm a lazy bum.
so this year, i kept it simple. (like so simple that i'm a buffoon for even showing you pictures of this simpleness)

the front porch:
(i'm too lazy to water mums too so i substituted pumpkins)

(i'm too lazy to glue gourds that have fallen off my favorite wreath so i just stuck a skeleton and crows on there)

(i'm too lazy to redo the summer stuff, so i just added more and more too it)

(i wanted new pillows on my rockers but i'm cheap so i just "made" some out of burlap and felt--using safety pins and fabric glue)

the mantle:
(i'm too lazy to take down that mirror so i just keep leaning stuff on it)

(i'm too lazy to keep a plant alive so i just cut cotton out of a field)

(i'm too lazy to buy matching candles so i just find some that fit and call it a day)

so there you have it.
i'm sure i'll add more halloweenie stuff to it later. or a bouquet of leaves.
or maybe not.
we'll see what miss lazy bum wants to do.

Well lazy bum style sure looks good to me! I love the moss and the cotton. Beautiful!

I absolutely ADORE your pumpkin + moss + crow on top of pedestal planter! We have two on the front porch that are empty because I, too, am lazy and did not water the ferns that used to live there. ;) Loved everything about this post!

i think laziness suits you well. i love what you've done! i love the pumpkin in the urn idea. i think i need to borrow that idea.

I think it all looks wonderful. I might just be borrowing a few of those ideas! Loved looking at your mantle. If you have time, I would love for you to pop over and check out:
