listen.

an actual conversation between my oldest two children, about the movie/tv show the last airbender:

josh: "i'm an earth bender."
anna: "really? make this pillow move then."
josh: "ok, stand over here. now look there."

(throws pillow on the floor while sister isn't looking.)

anna: "WHOAAA! oh my goodness!
how could you be an earth bender all this time and i didn't know it!
mom? josh is an earth bender!
wow. josh, are you an air bender too?!"

josh: "of course."
anna: "oh my goodness!"

one day, the innocence will be gone from our house and the kiddos will be all grown up.
josh will no longer be able to trick his gullible little sister so easily.
she will no longer believe his every word.
she will no longer idolize him like she does now.
they probably won't even want to sit near one another, let alone play together.

I AM LEARNING TO LISTEN AND SAVOR THESE MOMENTS.

Those moments are precious indeed!

Savor is the right word, for sure! They are fleeting those moments.
