i've had a really special day.
my office at work was decorated like an hawaiian luau.
my friends brought lots of food which was shared and enjoyed.
there was lots of laughter.

my facebook wall was exploding with well wishes.
lots of emails and texts too.
the children each made me cards.
john bought me special cupcakes and little gifts from anthropologie.
there were surprises in my mailbox.
surprises that quickly brought tears. happy tears--the best kind.

the kids played nicely on the breezy warm back porch.
there are flowers and a new candle burning in my kitchen.

i will not be making dinner tonight.
there is a snuggly little boy on my lap making it difficult to type.
he smells wonderful.
all is well.
i am 36 today.
i feel very happy and loved.
