it's all over.

christmas was awesome.
my parents were here to experience it all.


we ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and ate.


we played and read books and listened to music and watched football.


we sang and laughed and joked and acted goofy.

before we knew it, the big day itself was over and we woke up to the day-after-christmas blahs.

isn't it so sad?
that first day after christmas and the next few days after...they always seem so sad to me.
all the waiting and wishing and working--done.
it's all over.

ironically, this year, i was actually ready for it to be over.
i'm ready to organize and clean out and clean up.
the tree is already down and the living room feels so good.
most of the decorations and gifts are already put away.

i'm ready to look at my house in a new way.
i want to simplify and bring more order to this wild chaos.
so many times this past year i've said we need a bigger house.
NO more!
we just need LESS STUFF!
simplify, simplify, simplify...my new mantra.
