a couple of years ago, i lost my aunt bon to cancer.
she was my mom's oldest sister although she always joked that she was the youngest.
she was a great cook, a hard worker, a great mom and one of my best friends.
i think of her almost every day and talk about her often.
but i have to admit, a few weeks ago i was caught off guard by a flood of emotion.
i was missing her like crazy, wanted her to hug me and tell me that i was doing a good job as a mom and hear her tell me everything would be ok.
one night while driving home from dance class, anna stared out the window at the night sky.
the sun was setting and the sky was full of pinks and purples.
anna was looking at the sky in wonderment.
"how did it get to be all these pretty colors?!"
"oh i know how! aunt bon made the sky like this so we would see her in heaven!"

Those are some of the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen...
Gorgeous!
I remember a Golden Book we had when I was little (2 or 3 years old). It was about a family of bunnies, and the Grandpa bunny was an artist. It was a very sweet little book, but on the second page to the end, the Grandpa Bunny dies. The last page of the book looks just like these pictures (it was a pink and purple cotton-candy colored sunset) and one of the bunnies tells another that Grandpa Bunny Bunny painted it...
I always loved that book, and it was so comforting, even though I had no concept of death at that point.
To this day, every time I see a sunset like the one in your pictures, I think Grandpa Bunny Bunny must have painted it!
I just found the book on Amazon. It is a Disney Golden Book: http://www.amazon.com/Grandpa-Bunny-Little-Golden-Book/dp/0375839305/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t
