confession: i have checked my email no less than 100 times a day since we launched the fundraiser for davis.
i am amazed by the generosity of others and elated to meet so many of you.
thank you so much for visiting and leaving such heartwarming and motivating messages for our family!
it has been a steady stream of summer activities around here.
swimming, lazy afternoons in the air conditioning, birthday parties and craft afternoons.
the real, suffocating heat has finally hit the deep south and we are all sweltering.
i left for work this morning at 6:30 and it was already 80 degrees.
i felt like i had wilted before i even sat down at my office desk.
so needless to say, we have been trapped indoors for most of the afternoons, strategically hiding away from the prime sun.
ben hates it. he would much rather blow bubbles on the porch or swing for an hour or two.
but he sure loves his toy story--buzz lightyear and woody are still his best pals.
the house is quiet right now.
josh is at a friend's and anna is off to a pool party.
ben is all comfy on the ottoman, content to watch a movie.
it rained a little bit ago and now the afternoon light is soft and warm and lazy.
i love how it glows in the dining room.
these past few days, and even more so today, i have been reminded of just how small i am, of how God weaves these wild lives of ours, and of how blessed i am to be a part of it.
i am witnessing His work and it is amazing.
you are a part of it too.
does it overwhelm you like it does me?
saying "thank you" just doesn't seem like enough...

I loved this post.
That's all.
No, one more thing.
I love you too!
Beautiful. All of it. This life that He gives is Wow!
Yes it does overwhelm. I'm so glad your fundraiser is going well. God is showing you that He is Strong and that He loves you. Isaiah 1:17 + James 1:27 This is pure religion. Can't wait to watch His blessing pour out on your family. Thank you for inviting us along.
Anna
Wonderful post! There is so much beauty in our every day lives if we just take the time to see it.
I'm so excited to see the chipin numbers creeping up...hold on, Davis, your mommy's coming for you!
I love the shots of your home...its lovely. And thats some crazy heat! Here in NY we've had hot sweltering days(80s and 90s); the humid days do me in. I can take warm days and enjoy them. But humidity is from the devil!:)
