rain, craft, chores.

you know, i hate to complain, really i do.
but after weeks and weeks of being trapped inside the house because of the heat,
now we are all going crazy being stuck inside the house because of the rain.
dark gray rainy mornings = tired moody unhappy mommy
today it is especially dark and dreary and the coffee isn't kicking in just yet...

last night i stayed on the computer for way too long but my head is spinning with more fundraiser ideas.
we are still waiting for our travel dates, and the longer we have to wait,
the more documentation that needs to be redone and the more of our money down the drain.
i'm starting to get a little nervous about that so i'm brainstorming.
ladies craft nights
kids craft nights
etsy shop crafts
craft show ideas
crafts
crafts
crafts
we'll see if i kick my own butt and get moving.
if you have any suggestions, please send me an email!!

something else i need to put high on my priority list is making chore charts for the kids.
they seem to have forgotten all of their manners and responsibilities this summer.
and i'm determined to fix that.
i do believe chore charts are in order.
maybe something like this:

ahhhh, organization makes me happy.
it's an illness.
do you think if i make them cute enough, they will actually get used?
yeah, me neither.

If you live near me, then I've done adoption fundraisers with photography for the past few years. I offer it to one family a year, in September for Holiday cards. Typically I end up with a family adopting from China, but would love to help out if you do live where I think you live. ;)

I am feeling the same way these days. UGH. It was so hot, even here in the mountains that no one wanted to go outside. I tried kicking them out of the house with: "It's a beautiful day -- go draw with chalk, or play on the trampoline, or climb trees, or SOMETHING!!" They'd come in 5 minutes later all lethargic and sweaty asking to play the Wii. Now it is gloomy and rainy. Yep, this summer I feel like a failure at providing good summer memories for my children. I fear when they look back at summer, they will remember boredom, packed boxes all around the house, a tired preggo momma, and too many chicken nugget meals. I love the idea of the framed job lists. My children have also gotten lazy and completely unstructured this summer...time to crack down and reintroduce some responsibilities.

By the way, your captchas are so difficult! lol
