flying solo

not only am i still battling this infection, but now i'm on my own for the weekend too.
john is heading up north to a fundraiser for a friend of his, and i'm left here to entertain the kiddos.

so far we've had some fun with an old box of trains, a few legos, a couple of puzzles, and the ever friendly, spongebob squarepants.


the kids are definitely loving the fact that i haven't felt well enough to cook a real dinner.
tonight's easy supper: cheesy hot dogs, chips and red grapes.
then, of course, popsicles--by the truckload.
ben could eat his weight in popsicles (and popcorn).

the boys went to bed pretty easily.
as i type this, i still hear anna singing in her bed.
the girl won't quit.


pretty soon i'll only hear the gentle hum of the dryer and the baby monitor.
and hopefully, we'll all drift into dream land.

fingers crossed for an easy, happy day tomorrow.
