more christmas

i finally went through more of my pictures last night from Christmas.
together, they sum up our holiday with my parents better than words ever could.
when i look at them, even now after it's all said and done, i'm filled with gratitude and happiness.
i LOVED our Christmas together.











oh those glorious days filled with
steaming mugs of coffee and cocoa,
many games of memory and zingo,
family gingerbread house building,
butter cookies and raspberry jam cookies and peanut butter cup cookies,
yummy holiday ham and potatos au gratin,
harry connick jr. singing the tunes,
sparkly lights shining all day long,
reading the Christmas story from the children's bible,
reading the night before Christmas piled in anna's bed,
sweet anticipation and excitement,
the smiles on the children's faces,
the smiles on the adults' faces,
the love in our home filling us up, keeping us going, pulling us together.

another wonderful Christmas at home.

our company has gone home and the house is emptier than it's been in weeks.
today's the last day off for the kids.
tomorrow they head back to school and i'll head back to work.
another new year to make new memories, try new things, a year full of NEW days.
how exciting!
