today is the last day of summer.
the kids rode bikes, scooters and rip sticks in the cul-de-sac.
they jumped on the trampoline, drew all over the driveway with sidewalk chalk, played basketball and tennis, and ran themselves silly.
the neighbors were all out and chatting it up.
birds were chirping, bunnies scattering, and ants crawling.
the sun seemed to stay in the sky much longer than it had in weeks.
it wasn't planned at all but i guess you could say we had a neighborhood farewell-to-summer party right there at the end of our little street.
tomorrow welcomes autumn and the start of my most favorite of seasons.
i think it will be the perfect day to buy some mums, a few cornstalks and maybe a pumpkin or two.
