continuing the sneak peeks...and the countdown to the madison street festival this saturday.
you can see yesterday's craft here.
i know i've told you before but my dad is an awesome woodworker.
he has mad crazy carpenter skills.
he wanted to help make something for the show.
so i showed him a few pics i found in this etsy shop and this etsy shop that i wanted to make into fun funky chalkboards.
my mom sketched the shapes and my dad did all the hard work of cutting them out.
so tedious. i'm so impressed!
i painted them with chalkboard paint (from michael's, martha stewart brand).
our twist on the traditional chalkboard.
i love love love the way they turned out.
they are functional and fun.
they are a piece of art.
sure do make me happy!
thanks dad!
p.s. there are also two mermaids that i haven't painted yet but they are ginormous...perfect for a beach house!
